So much fun

"I recently bought this for my son's monster birthday party. A week later, a friend of mine threw a party for her son and bought a pinata from the local Party City. I learned that pinatas can come in papier-mache (like this one) or cardboard (like that which my friend purchased). Here are two of the advantages that I found in this type of pinata - 1) The children had an awesome time smashing this pinata. Each child had many attempts and lots of laughs. The string holding the pinata actually broke before the pinata itself, but it didn't matter because they had just as much fun hitting it on the ground.
2) I helped my friend load the candies in her pinata and not only did the cardboard rip apart, leaving a gaping hole where we were loading it, but the delicate tissue paper ripped off all over the place. Neither of these problems occured with the monster pinata.
This is extremely well constructed.
I imagine that the monster pinata is more like the original pinata that might have come out of Mexico. Cardboard would work great for the kids 6 and under, but the sturdier construction works better with the older kids."

Not at all what I expected

"Even though I knew the measurments, it looked much smaller than I anticipated. The eyes & mouth are glued on, paper cutouts, and had come off (I guess in shipping) so I had to fix them when it arrived. There was too much paper on the inside, so I had to cut the hole bigger, tear some out and make space for the candy. It was kinda more trouble that it was worth. It looked a mess when all was said and done, but the kids still beat it with a stick and got their candy... so, oh well. I guess you get what you pay for, and luckily this wasn't an expensive dissapointment, just a visual one."

"My 3 year old loves Monsters and this Pinata was the perfect size for his party. He only had around 10 guests - so once broken it released just the right amount of candy! Plus it was adorable!"
