I received this set for my 62nd birthday gift! I was so excited. For years I had told my kids about a toy I had as a child that involved a pointed stick & plastic disc that you balanced on a stick. The whole family had fun playing with it. I can even start on the edge & twirl it fast enough with the stick to make it spin to the middle on it's on! This is how I remember the childhood one being. For the complaint about the sticks try taping it together or using a wooden pointed dowel (which is how the orignal ones came, but for obvious reasons can't be sold now) I was delighted my skill from practicing as a child enabled me to still start twirling it the harder way.

We are not experts and don't have anything to compare with. The children were entertained with these for hours.

I use spinning plates regularly at corporate events. I was excited when I saw OT had them at such a great price (I normally buy them overseas). Anyway, you get exactly what you pay for. The sticks come in 2 parts which don't stay together . . . and the plates are harder to use than most.
