"I set out to make corrugated cardboard swords for my son's sixth birthday with a medieval tournament theme. A box cutter didn't give me the detail that I wanted. After using scissors for one sword, I felt sure I'd end up with carpal tunnel if I made the dozen I needed.
When I found these card stock swords, I saw potential. The reviews were not good, but for the price, I had to make them work. Instead of ordering one dozen, I ordered two dozen and glued two together to make one sword, using rubber cement. I painted the blades silver and the handle ornamentation gold. I wrapped the handles with strips of black velvet remnant, then glued on jewels.
The kids loved them! They did not last for two hours of sword fighting, they all bent at the handle."
