The characters are ducks dressed up. Even the other animals such as the sheep are dressed as a duck which could be quite confusing for young children learning to identify animals.

Bought these for our home Nativity set this year (found a creche at the dollar store to put them in), and they are just adorable! Bright, colorful paint, none of them are squashed or leaning, and none are missing. Received every duck pictured, and the picture doesn't do them justice! Especially the cute, tiny size of Ducky Baby Jesus and the little sheep. I have gotten so many complements on them! May buy a few more sets for Christmas presents next year!
