I gave these to my niece who (if you know anything about the Chinese Zodiac) turned 12 of course.
They are too babyish for a 12yr old.
If you had a baby in 2013 they might be nice to buy on sale now and put together when the kid is 2 or 3...
I bought the year of my kids when they were born but we haven't put them together yet... and probably should now that they're proficient with glue and scissors.
If you are an elementary teacher and just want to celebrate the year of the Horse (which it is now) they'd be good for K-2nd graders.
Pros: Educational
Cons: Age appropriateness
No, I would not recommend this product to a friend.
