Missing Pieces

"It's a good thing I took out all the pieces from the individual packages. I found that one of the monsters was missing part of an eye and the mouth and another monster was missing his spots. One of the green monsters had extra pink dye (from the "hair" I suppose) on the top part of the fleece (both front and back) in the form of inconsistent stripes. I don't know what OTC will do for the missing pieces but I guess one of my monsters won't have a mouth. I would recommend checking each package to see if you need to improvise and "steal" parts from other monsters."

"These need about twice as much stuffing as they have. The pillow is too flimsy so I double up on the stuffing and buy extra to finish."

"I took someone's advice on here and pretied the pillows so it was easier and faster for the kids to make. The felt peices were a little awkward to attach with regular craft glue. It takes to long to dry. We got out the glue gun and that worked great. Of course at that point the only things the kids could do was stuff the pillow. They still loved them!"

Cute & fun but needs prep work and add'l stuff

"Thanks to the other reviews, I knew I would need extra stuffing and that some pillows might not be cut well and that was exactly the case. You will need some additional stuffing - 1 bag from an arts and craft store was more than enough and some good craft glue. I did need to do some additional cutting on about half the pillows I ordered and the felt mouths & eyes needed quick ironing since they were wrinkled from the way they were packaged. The kids loved them and it was a fun project for 8 year old girls. Just leave yourself time to open, iron and prep the materials before giving to the kids and it will be fine. Also, the felt fabric is a bit on the thin side - a few girls tied very tight knots and I noticed the fabric ripped a little but the kids didn't care -- I'm not sure how long they will last but it was a fun project for a sleep over party."

"I made these for a group of 2-6 yr olds for Halloween! Gret fun and they all loved it!! Easy to make and seem to be holding up well! I reccommend using a hot glue gun for the faces, the foam glue was not the best!"

"Purchased this for my son,12 and daughter 9. They loved it. We also had additional stuffing to add to make them really full. All pieces were in each bag ready to put together. We used a hot glue gun to glue faces on. Have slept with them since we got them together! Great afternoon project."

"I have only put together 3 of them. Some of the cutout pieces for the face are not cut properly, not really a big deal with these pillows. I did double the stuffing-personal preference. Very easy to assemble, I think my grandkids will love them!"

"We got these for a program in a residence hall and the girls absolutely LOVED them! :) My only complaint is the lack of stuffing that comes with each monster. The girls had a blast mixing and matching some of their faces & even cut out different designs to make them unique!"

"I bought these for a Girl Scouts Halloween party. After assembling a sample, I found I needed more firberfill, and needed to pre-tie most of the way around. We ended up with more girls in the troop than expected, so I ordered an additional set of pillows. The 2nd set came with more fill than the first sets. It was the perfect amount; no need to supplement. They turned out really cute. Tacky glue worked better than hot glue (no burned fingers)."

"Very fun to do. Needed to buy a bag of filling for about $3.00 I bought a few more felt sheets to give the kids more options on decorating. The price was great and for just a few more dollars the kids could personalize them even more. I'm buying a second set for my kids to give to friends."

"All the reviews on this product are accurate, so I was prepared. I did need to purchase more fill, and had to cut down the ties since alot of them were uneven, sometimes not even cut through. I had them for a kids' party, so pre-tying them and seperating them into bags was a perfect suggestion. Otherwise, the kids loved them!"

"I actually assembled these as favors for the under 3 crowd at my sons birthday party. I don't think that children would have the patience to put these together, and the tacky glue takes quite a while to set. I assembled with a glue gun, and finished them in about 2.5 hours. I had to buy extra stuffing, as what was included was certainly not enough. I still believe these were a great buy, super cute and enough to yield a giggle from my little one :)"

"These are cute pillows and fun to make. My 14 year old daughter enjoyed making them very much. I was a bit disappointed in the stuffing, I think there could be more, the pillows are a bit too squishy for my taste. But if I had made them, I probably would have just bought a little more batting to put in them. My daughter seemed to like them just the way they are. A fine project for kids, and very cute."

"Missing pieces but still able to make a face. Not enough stuffing so I purchased some at the store. Some pillows were not cut right. Making the pillows before the party so able to find ways around the issues I ran into. Just know you'll have to make adjustments..."

"Bought these for my daughter's b-day party for the kids to do. I did tie most of the pillow's first because they were young kids, so I just left a enough space for them to stuff them. I also bought more stuffing. What it comes with is not enough, but it's really cheap at any fabric store. For the price of the project I still thought they were a good buy. My niece still carries her around with her and it's been almost a year!!"

"The pillows were not fully cut. It is hard for kids to cut fleece, so it took quite a while to cut them all. We did find that there was enough stuffing and parts. A glue gun worked great to glue the faces on. The kids loved them. I would make sure to open all the packages ahead of time and cut them before your party."

Good unique craft

"I purchased 42 of these for my church's sleepover event. I opened them all and hot glued the faces on ahead of time as I didn't want the kids to have to deal with glue and drying time. A few (less than 5) were missing a few pieces, but a few had too many so it worked out. There was some stuffing for each pillow, and it would have been okay as I pulled it out and fluffed it up, but I wanted to make sure there wasn't a problem so I bought some more stuffing. Some children used more and some didn't. I think it depends on how stuffed you want a pillow to be. I thought overall that this was a unique craft that the kids liked a lot, it was good for boys and girls and great for a sleepover as they then used them to sleep with. Children were aged preschool through 5th grade and while some definitely needed assistance they all enjoyed the craft. I purchased them at $14.95 so that is more the $2 a child. That is pretty much for me to usually spend but for a special occasion it was okay."
