Unglazed Piggy Banks Date: October 24, 2009
"I bought these piggy banks for my first grade class. I'm trying to teach them money identification and value. When I received the package I was so relieved. Not one piggy bank was broken. They are the cutest things! I had each child decorate their piggy with permanent markers. I will spray a protective coating on each piggy when they are finished. Each day they earn a penny by being safe, responsible, and respectful. Every Friday they will get to empty out their piggy banks and count their money. Eventually they will be able to trade their pennies in for nickels, dimes, and quarters. I hope they will enjoy learning about money!"

"We give one dime to each child, grandchild, etc for Christmas each year, depending on their age they may get several dollars worth. When it is our turn next year, everyone will receive an individualized bank with their dimes inside.
The banks take the paint very well and are easy to handle. It will be fun to use their favorite colors and flowers. it might even encourage more thrift for the extravagant ones."

"I bought these for a large, outdoor family get together where I needed crafts for kids aged 6-15. This was the best item, by far! Everyone wanted to paint one, and no matter what the kid's skill level was, they each were really pleased with how it turned out. And I enjoyed watching how much they liked painting them!!!"

"I bought these to use for an art activity at a music camp for middle school and high school girls. They loved them! Even the staff got into painting their piggy banks. They are the perfect size and the acrylic paints I got from Wal-Mart and Hobby Lobby were fantastic and dried quickly. No glaze was necessary."

"I got these for my 6 year old just because she picked 'em out. I am tickled with them: great quality, easy to paint, and a great size. I also like that the stopper in the bottom is kind of hard to get out. That means my kids won't be running to the piggy bank every single time the ice cream truck rolls around!"

Fun Pig Banks Date: February 16, 2009
"I needed an activity that would be easy to do with children ages 3 to 12. Every child had fun painting at their own level. I used acrylic paints and had a variety of paintbrush sizes. The paint looked great on the unglazed pigs. I thought I would need to spray the pigs with glaze at the end, but found that the paint was perfect without it. We were studying saving money and this was fantastic to use at the end of the unit."
