"I bought this for my 1st graders to make. Those that understood the weaving idea helped those that didn't quite have it. However, when I went around to glue the green ends, some were too short to glue to the outer edge. Appartently, the little guys had stretched the outer side frame. No matter how hard I tried to correct it, the mat had an eliptical shape. I don't think the children even noticed it, but unfortunately I did. If the green strips had been about 1/2 inch longer, it would have made the problem easier to adjust."

Great Holiday Craft!

"I was going to have my Brownie troop do a weaving craft using paper, but then I saw these foam placemats in the Oriental catalog and decided to try them instead. They are quite nice for less than $1 per placemat. Easy for an 8-year-old to do (with a little help). All the pieces are pre-cut, saving time. You have to pull apart the strips, but that doesn't take long. Each placemat is individually packaged with its own pieces. I would definitely recommend this craft."

"I bought this for my 7 year old to make, for our table decorations this Christmas. I thought it might take a lot of help, but she was able to make them pretty much unsupervised and even her 4 year old brother managed to do one, with a little help. They turned out cute, and the kids were really excited to see them on the table."

"I loved these place mats for Christmas Day. It kept the mess off of my oak table without having to use a tablecloth. I did turn the happy face on the berries over when I made them but I think they are very cute. Since I had enough to share, they were enjoyed as Christmas presents also."

"Although I didn't really enjoy putting them together, the end product was really cute. I used some of them for gifts and the recipients really liked them. I also kept some for myself and they really made my table look Christmas-y."
