Holiday Saver
Date: December 1, 2009
"This was an insightful purchase. The kids loved it and really poured their hearts out (what they are thankful for). I think we will do this every Thanksgiving and look back on what was written the year before. With 48 nieces and nephews and 11 siblings with their spouses, this kit was a holiday saver. I can't wait to do it again next year. These trees are durable and will be brought out every year"

Great Craft for Kindergarten
Date: December 2, 2009
"We did this craft for our Kindergarten Fall Fling party. Everyone loved it! I thought the leaves would be too small for the children to write on so I prepared a few with things I had seen in the classroom for which they were thankful. But, no! They loved writing on the leaves! I brought 2 Sharpies and the kids had a ball. The teachers and parents thought it was a great craft, good message.
We used glue dots to adhere the leaves to the tree which worked really well.
Some of the leaves weren't pressed well enough into the foam therefore you couldn't punch them out or use them which was a bit disappointing. There were still more than enough leaves for all the children to have 15-20 leaves each.
I prepared one tree ahead of time so they could see what it was supposed to look like. We used that one and the ones my children made for our Thanksgiving centerpieces. They looked great, showcased our children's work and served as a good conversation starter.
Overall, great project. Would definitely buy again.

"Every year I have my family (and guests) do a project that will allow them to carefully consider what people, things and situations in their lives that they are thankful for. This was the best purchase I have made yet from Oriental Trading. It was fun (lots of laughter at some things people were thankful for), thought provoking and looks great when it's done. I called our collective trees our Little Thankful Forest. I am putting away the Thanksgiving decor now, but am not willing to put these trees away. I want to leave them out for a while so I can continue to enjoy them."

Great Classroom Craft
Date: November 25, 2009
"I did this with my third graders and they loved it! I thought it would take them forty-five minutes, but it was more like an hour. I think this is because they used glue and tape. I had planned to use "Glue Dots," but they were missing from my shipment. OTE is sending me a box though, so I have no complaints about customer service.
Anyway, they look great when they're finished and they're easy to make. I lent the class Sharpees, but I think markers could work. Just test markers on a piece of craft foam to see for yourself.

Will warm your soul and make you laugh(hopefully!!
Date: November 20, 2009
"Great for all ages, in fact the younger they are the cuter the responses to the question "What are you thankful for?" My 4 year old said clouds, photos of family, Legos, our local football team (daddy is a big fan) and TV along with Jesus, family, friends, & etc.
I recommend glue dots so you can put the leaves on with the base assembled. School glue took hours to dry and we had to glue the leaves on with the base flat. (not fun for the kids to have to wait hours to see the finished product)
We bought extras and gave them as gifts to cousins and friends, everyone loved them."

"We got these for a group project at church. We gave one to each family to work on together. The trunk portion is thick and sturdy and stands up well. We wrote on the leaves with sharpie markers and attached them using glue dots. They turned out great! We had lots of comments on how nice they were."

Great for CCD
Date: November 4, 2009
"This will my 6th year doing this craft with my 3rd grade religious class. Its a great project for this age group. I found Glue Dots to be the best vs stick and regular. Fine point sharpies are also better to use than regular markers. The parents love it and each year they always come back and say it's on thier table."

Love these
Date: November 14, 2008
"Don't wait to order these. I love the way kids think, I love to see how they feel on different items that are important to them. This one item makes them think, not just what I want for Christmas, but What I am thankfull to have in my life. I enjoy as a room parent doing them. I try to give them a week before so it can be a long thought out item for them. I enjoy this so much!"

"I have been purchasing this for several years and using it for a Thanksgiving kids event at our business. Kids love it! It's easy (especially with glue dots) and fun! I have had over 50 kids at one time making this - and with only me in charge - haven't been overwhelmed!"

Wonderful project
Date: October 7, 2008
"This will be my third year ordering this for my class. It is colorful, relevant, and easy to make. DON'T use regular glue as it will drip. Use foam glue, or this year, I am going to try "glue dots" and I think this will be less messy. I will let you know. I have gotten rave reviews from the parents and other staff who have seen this project. It is HIGHLY recommended!"

Fun Way to Share Thanks!
Date: October 3, 2008
"I send these to famliy and friends so that they can set them up on their tables on thanksgiving, too. Everyone loves them!
Kids take pride in seeing the leaf with their contribution on the tree.
We have everyone fill out at least one leaf.
It's positive and uplifting and easy and fun.
Glue dots work best with this kit.
