"These made a cute alternative to a goody bag -- we put a little treasure in each -- but some of the shells are very small and flat and so won't fit much more than a ring or the like. Shells themselves are beautiful, clasps are pretty crummy but for the price I can't complain."

"I was very very very pleased about the shells when they came. I am using them to put earings in for my bridesmaids gift for my "beachy" wedding and they work perfectly. Very neat and original gift. Beautiful and antique looking."

"I bought one of these at a carnival once, I don't know if it came from oriental trading, but I knew already that they didn't hold much... I bought them last year to make necklaces and I sold all of them... the clasps can be a little tricky, but I just bend them into place... I have one that I use to hold sewing pins."

"The only review at the time of my order gave these one star so I didn't have high expectations when I ordered the shell purses. I ordered anyway because I was desperate for something DIFFERENT (than all the plastic 'throw-away' stuff) for my 7yr old daughter's goodie boxes.
I can see why the other reviewer wasn't happy to use them as individual gifts (for adults?) but we LOVE them for the goodie boxes. Each one is different and it's true that some of the little wire clapses are tricky (not the highest quality) but for less than $2 a purse I didn't expect much more and they were at least functional. My daughter had a blast putting 7 cents in each purse for her 7 years and I really think the girls will enjoy them. You might want to over-order a little in case one is broken but none were broken in my 2 boxes.
Anyway, the quality is decent enough for the price and I think they'll work very well for our purposes."

Coin Purses Too Small

"Coin purses are too small to hold more than 2-3 coins. I purchased some previously and you could put 20 coins in them. I intended these for gifts but they cannot be used."
