These were purchased as part of a breast cancer awareness project I was organizing and they are the perfect size for the items I wished to include. They are a heavier gauge plastic than normal supermarket shopping bags, so they stand up to more weight, but I wouldn't put anything with sharp edges or parts into the bag because it could puncture.
