They were actually better than what I thought from the reviews I read. It is true that the swords to come apart within minutes of rough playing but an easy fix with some glue. We had little ones up to teenagers having fun with them. They are made with heavy layered foam that keep them being damaged easily. Just need a little more glue on the swords and these would be perfect.
Pros: quality, Child's Favorite
Cons: factory assembly needs improvements
Yes, I would recommend this product to a friend.

Though the boys had a great time with them, the sword came detached from the rod and the strap on the back of the shields would not snap back on. Considering these were $28.00 for 5, I would not buy them again.
Pros: Age appropriateness
Cons: Assembly, quality

BE AWARE! Item description states "12 Foam Swords & Armor Sets" but it is NOT. This ONLY includes 6 Foam Swords and 6 Armor sets for a total of 12 items.
Other than that, the quality of the items is fair. The colors are faded a bit. Not made to last but what is for a birthday party favor. OK for a kids party give-a-way, but not great and I wouldn't gift it away under any other circumstance. Swords and shields are SMALL. Its seems to made for smaller children, like age 5 and under.
